Weekly challenge 8/15 - 8/21 Triangles

I have really struggled with this one.

This has a loose compositional triptych formed by three vertical objects and has two objects dominated by triangles.

I probably should have biked down to I.M. Pei's National Gallery East Building, but that would be like cheating.

Interesting shot, I think. You have the Pentagon, Washington Memorial and (I think) the Smithsonian as well. My brother lives in Odenton, so I love going to this area and my parents are both buried at Arlington, so I go there when in America as well. Curious to know where you shot this? Also, I live in I.M. Pei's home town of Suzhou, China. He was quite revered here and built several of the local buildings (Suzhou Art Museum being the most famous of these). I had no idea there was a gallery of his work in America, and I will visit it when back that way again for sure. A really magnificent visionary and I appreciate the tip!

The shot is taken from the Air Force Memorial which sits on high ground just above the cemetary. It is very easy to visit. I was on my way home on an evening bike ride, popped in and saw this scene. I could not get the camera out fast enough.

The lower tower in the image is actually the old Post Office building.

The East Building is part of the National Gallery and houses the modern art collection. Pei was the architect and it is very triangular. It is the last building on the North side of the Mall before the Capitol.

I live walking distance from Arlington Cemetary. I'm happy to get some shots from their site and send them to you. Just use the forum's messaging system to let me know.

I have a photo that my brother shot of my wife and I looking at my parent's grave, and the Air Force Memorial is directly behind us in the shot. You are lucky to live in that area, so historic and just beautiful. I love going to the National Gallery and hit it every chance I get. I am more into the classic 17th and 16th century works. I have many photos of their grave, but I appreciate your very kind gesture. My mom died in early December, 2001 and their grave is next to the side of the Pentagon that was hit on 9/11, and there was this HUGE swath of destruction- just unbelievable to see. I looked down and there was my mom in a hole that is her grave, and looked up to see a hole in the Pentagon. By the time my dad died the following May, we went pack and the entire portion of the Pentagon that got hit had been restored. Just astounding and something I will never forget.
