I recently purchased a Spyder pro monitor calibrator, and wow, what a difference! My monitor was already pretty well calibrated for color, but the contrast and brightness was a HUGE difference. Calibrating my monitor is something I should have done a long, long time ago. I have no idea why I put it off for so long..
I can't encourage everyone who hasn't calibrated their monitor enough, if you post process, spend the $150 to buy a calibrator and calibrate your monitor!! If you have any doubt, you won't regret spending the money on it. I think calibrating my monitor is second only to investing in good glass!
