What high end camera should I get

sony a7rii vs canon 5dsr ??
If you have lots of canon lenses wait for the 5D IV at PMA.
IF you don't have any lenses, get the A7Rii.
5DsR was utterly underwhelming. It was the least impressive camera I've used since the Leica M9.
Any other cameras i should look into
You said a little ago that you can hook me up with deals do you ship to the us ??
I never said I could hook you up with deals.
Sorry misread it :suspicious:

FWIW Sony has a Unilateral PricingPolicy. All prices for Sony products are the same.

You couldn't have been using the M9 properly

Well Chusam, how about it? Were you using the M9 properly? Did you remember to genuflect to it between frames? Give it a proper shrine?

I was annoyed with the ergonomics, horrific battery life, stupid way to remove memory card, subpar LCD screen, weight, AND that overpriced lens with the worst chromatic aberration ever. I've seen less CA on a kit lens.

I was putting it up against my far less expensive D810.
FWIW, I also put the Sony RX1R II against my D810; the Sony won.

I've borrowed an M8, M9 an MP and that M monochrome.
None of them really clicked with me.
The M8 was far inferior to the D300 I was using at the time.
I still don't get why you'd have to remove the ENTIRE base plate just to change the battery or memory card.

The camera weighed far more than it has any right to.
I want to take photos, not build my biceps.

The ergonomics of the A7 family are still kinda odd but the image quality and autofocus is utterly sweet.

If you don't get removing the base plate you'll never get Leica, the M8 is one of the best digital B+W cameras going

Yes.. ok, sure. But, it has a red dot. Did you not see the red dot?

This is interesting, I've never heard much about Leica other than that it's overpriced.

@chuasam, if it were comparably priced to the Sony a7 line would you have a higher opinion of it? Or do you genuinely dislike it as a camera regardless of price?

I would like it more if they sold on features rather than historical brand goodwill.
On a tactile front, they have a nice mechanical feel. USD 6000 for a 35mm f/1.4 is just ridiculous. $7000 for a lumpy body that performs worse than a $4000 Nikon is just usurious.

If they were priced slightly above a Fujifilm XPro2 (*because full frame*) and had updated electronics and features, I might like them better.

If they sold on how good they are as cameras rather than what rare and exotic animal skins are optional, I might be willing to like them a bit more.

Put it this way, Leica is part of the Hermes group.

I don't use clues, I use facts of which you seem to be lacking.
