What would you recommend?

I'm looking into getting the Canon EOS Rebel T3i. Should I get it with the kit 18-55 IS Canon EF Lens, or should I just buy the camera body and get a different lens? If you think I should get a different lens, what lens would you [FONT=arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif]recommend[/FONT] and why? Thanks

What extra money would you have to spend on a lens? Mostly I'd say go for the kit lens. It's a good enough starter

Perhaps you should consider a bundle kit to have a discount. Costco and Sam's club sell the kit plus a 55-250mm zoom lens with a free bag & DVD too for less than $900. (At least you don't have to rush to buy a bag that you really want.) Then when budget permits, you may want the 50mm 1.8 prime lens for sharp pictures in low light and maybe a speedlight too. That IMO would be as good initial setup.
