Like some have said, I'd get a 70-200mm 2.8 for what you want to shoot.

I am deciding between a 50 and a 30 mm prime

Just had a look at some pricing and the sigma 30 is about 4 times the price of a canon 50.

Thanks for all the opinions, I think I'll most likely get a 50mm 1.4, a 24-105mm f/4 and the 70-200mm f/2.8, now which one to get first
