Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi all ;). This is my first time here and from what I've seen I think it's an awesome site!! I DO have a question...........
What software do alot of you use for editing? Has anybody ever tried DxO Optics Pro and IF so what did you think of it? I DO have Photoshop Elements 8 but the other program kind of caught my eye and I would like some feedback on it before I spend ALOT of time trying to figure it all out.

Looking forward to your replies ;) and thanking you ALL in advance.

I use Lightroom for as much as I can, and Photoshop for the rest.

Photoshop and Lightroom is all you need ;)... I think.
I know some people use Aperture but I never used it.

ACR then into PS
Bridge to launch into ACR/PS; not so much for sorting but colour tagging can be helpful when working through large sets.

The most versatile features Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS5 have is regular layers, adjustment layers, and the range of selection tools. Photoshop Lightroom 3 has none of those.

Lightroom was designed by Adobe to compliment to CS5.

DXO Optics Pro is very good at correcting optical and geometric distortions in an image. Beyond that it doesn't really stand out.

Image editing is easier if you have a range of editing applications that include all the above, plus some others.

Actually, I don't have one single favorite. I use NX2, GIMP, PhotoEditor, Paint, PaintBrush and Raw Therapee. Which one I use depends on what I want to do. Some programs are quicker than others to do a specific task, others just load much faster for a quick-n-dirty change.

I use both photoshop Elements 9 and depending on what needs to be done .. some times I will just use Gimp ..

I like Photo shop CS5, bridge, light-room however my editing computer is MIA so i am stuck with UFRAW and GIMP both UFRAW and GIMP are free but take me 10x longer to do anything.
