Some rant here, I was trying to read the shutter count data of my camera in this camera shutter count online website and after some research I realized canon decided not to include shutter count data in its pictures metadata. Why they want to force people to use its software? I even tried with my other camera and it wasn't a problem at all, why is Canon so evil? Is there other way to read it other than downloading canon software?

It's not about the money, it's about freedom. I don't want to install another spyware on my computer, it's enough with windows. The thing is that Nikon doesn't force you to install its software.

This was a company decision made by men, not something that Canon thought it was good for their users and based purely on greed.

But thanks for replying, I'm open to consider other point of view.

What Canon software? What is its name? I've never heard of Canon software that will read the shutter count.

I thiophilos I agree with you. I think you need to go and look at from the camera itself. On the back on the lcd screen. why they would include shutter count on the meta data is beyond me.

To promote its own software ecosystem, Canon has removed shutter count information from camera image EXIF metadata. Users that prefer third-party tools or don't want to download more software may find this decision annoying. Nevertheless, there are ways around it to get shutter count information for Canon cameras. You can use the official software from Canon, get the information from an authorised Canon service centre, or use third-party programmes like ShutterCount, EOS Inspector, or Shuttersnitch. Tech businesses frequently follow this procedure.
