idk....call me a sucker, but i vote if she returned to learn we should give her a chance to start over....
I'm too nice (or a sucker, whichever way you look at it) so I'm with SrBiscuit here.
New Photographer - I'm going to give you the sort of critique I would want. Honest but constructive.
Number 1 isn't terrible but would probably look better without the selective colouring. I know you like the technique - and yes, I was excited when I found out how to do it in GIMP too - but it is completely unnecessary in this shot. Use selective colouring to draw the attention towards something specific, not just to show off that you can do it.
As for number 2 I'd honestly start again. I posted a self portrait and got it torn to shreds on here so I went and shot another one which was MUCH better.
The shot is out of focus which is a pain - it's hard to appreciate a shot when it's not in focus. Reshoot and try something different with your focus (all of your shots seem to be OOF so it suggests to me you're doing something wrong).
The crop is very haphazard - half of the arm has been chopped off. If this was a post processing crop I'd be a little less liberal with it - if this was how it was shot then yes, you need to take a step back.
The white balance makes the baby look purple (pink? Can't really tell, I'm a deuteranomaly sufferer) instead of skin toned so this would need to be addressed.
Finally, the lighting seems uni-directional and harsh on the right side of the shot (baby's left) - try using some kind of light modifier if you're controlling the light. Failing that, a reflector to the right of the baby could fill in some of the shadows.
Said my bit - if you're a troll I've wasted a few minutes of my life.
If you're looking to learn then maybe my (amateur) opinion can open up some doors you shut off in the last thread.
Good luck
