Could anyone give me a rough idea of how this
photo was done? 3 Tales Marlborough Savignon Blanc (2012) - White

Probably chilled wine shot when chilled or wine bottle was frosted.

Picture's rather too small to get many clues; could be a frosted bottle, or chilled as mentioned. I'm guessing a diffused light firing through, and and 1-2 flagged lights on the front.

Light firing through do you mean from the back?
Then some kind of light at the front? What is the purpose of flag light?
This image is similar but bigger, may give a better idea?

I'm not convinced that's even a photo... It looks like it was rendered (badly) in 3D modeling software...

OK, that looks a lot more 'photo-like' than the picture that was on the website.

Single soft source firing from backside, black flag on both sides of bottle, bounce card for front illumination. looks like the bottom was cut out in post, looks a bit uneven. Most likely shot on white seamless.

A 3D rendering wouldn't have such an inconsistent glass thickness.
