all right ladies

Yup, bad situation all the way around here, big question is how you think your wife will respond.

You can forget trying to make any kind of a deal with these folks, they've already realized that they can just manipulate your wife and change the terms pretty much any time they want.

How do you get out of it?

"I've decided not to sell the boat".

You'd be surprised how effective that can me.

What's surprising, though, is that you seem shocked that they want to put it on the water. I honestly can't imagine not doing that...
i don't live in florida. i live in maine. NO ONE has a boat on the lake yet.

If the lake isn't frozen, and I was in your shoes, I'd let them take it out on the lake.

Nothing says you have to go with them...

No.1, Why the hell do they need a boat when there having a baby?
No.2, If they are having a baby yet they have to pay the boat off because the cant afford it, would they concentrate on buying baby stuff or getting ready for the baby??

None of that should remotely be the concern of the seller...

There's a really simple solution to this. Tell them cash and carry. Pay or go. No money no boat. If you want to have a spot of fun list the boat on Craiglist for your original agreed price, payment in full.

still haven't paid for it, still saying they want it. Guess what. i pulled it out yesterday, im going to drop it in the lake and just run it. View attachment 72424

The only person I've ever let mess with something I'm selling without money in hand was my brother.

I hope you're not holding on to it for them. I'd sell it when I come across someone with cash in hand.

Not worried ill run it and put a sign on it. bring some cash down and take it home with you.

Cupholders! guess that'll sweeten the deal lol. I suppose by now the original question doesn't matter much but I was thinking if you already have two boats and were talking about buying a third maybe your wife thought you ought to sell one first and got to talking to her friend and one thing led to another...

Anyway I agree with others' comments that it might be best to say it isn't for sale (then if at some point in the future you list it for sale and they have the cash, then maybe... although I don't know if I'd want to deal with them). Some people seem to do a good bit of shopping around and trying to get sellers to lower their prices, etc. - if they don't have the money then they don't, that's their problem to figure out how to afford a boat.
