Wow all one can't use a 16-18 mp camera with high fps in a studio. That's good to know, or maybe you wouldn't be able but others could

You can use anything in the studio you want, but the dslr's that are designed/marketed to studio pros are generally high resolution, low fps and pretty limited iso wise.

I would think though that 16-18mp is still very high resolution. The fact that it has fast fps and high ISO are just added benefits. It sounds like it has the potential to be a very flexible pro camera for all uses

Of course it is, but the higher resolution cameras are always going to be looked at as better for studio and landscape. They will generally have lower ISO capabilities, and slower FPS, simply because they're not needed, and it wouldn't be a good trade-off if they could go down on those two things, and up on IQ, etc.

I assume by going down on two things you mean studio and landscape shots. I agree that these are important areas for people who use their cameras for this. I still think 16-18 would not be a deal breaker here. Also why would high fps and high ISO capabilities subtract from the camera. I am not arguing just curious. As it is we are talking about a non existent item anyway.

It wouldn't, for any reason I can foresee. But adding these two things into the camera would raise the price. Remember, you're already going to be having high MP on an FX body, which will also raise the price, quite significantly. So, if you had all of it in one camera, you would be looking at something in the $15-17k range, I would assume. This is quite a small target audience for a camera of that price.

Studio shooters want more MP. They don't need high ISO, or a high fps rate, but yes one can use a camera primarily designed for shooting action sports in poorly lit venues in a studio.
