1 for me also. I know sometimes the water is murky and the blue reflection turns murky also, but I still like 1 better.
If you can get rid of the boats, I would do it....then can I send you some of mine to get rid of too

Thanks all. Yep, the first one is the color as seen, but it struck me as too bland and so the alternate version. Maybe if I back off on the warm foreground.

Great shot, liking #1, lose the boats, didn't notice them until you said it.

#1 for me also. The leading lines of the water are so strong, that I didn't even notice the boats till you mentioned it, but doesn't appear to difficult to remove them.

Boats gone. But I still want some kind of color differentiation between top and bottom. It is the Mississippi after all. Here's a compromise:

Thanks -- appreciate it. That's an 11 year old photo. The tech has improved since and that was taken with a camera that only saved JEPGs. Given the mild backlight the camera JPEG is a fright. Every so often I revisit some of the photos taken then and try and salvage a few. I'm never entirely happy but I keep trying.

I would describe this as a very "strong image", in that it refuses to let the eye wander from the elements of the composition. Nice job
