compulsive buyers

Do you ever start surfing the web or walk through a store, and see something that you really like, but you don't really need, but you buy it anyway because it's cool? I'm a VERY compulsive buyer.

What's your latest compulsive purchase?

Nope - takes me an age to buy anything. I have to investigate every possible option, read every review - I'm a nightmare.

I'm too poor to be impulsive, so if I ever do buy something without much thought, it's something small like you'd find at the impulse display near a register. I think my last impulse buy was a pack of weird-flavored gum instead of my usual mint

We NEVER do small impulse buys. Only big ones. In fact, for some reason I feel guilty throwing things like nail polish into the cart, yet when we want something big, we just go for it. *sigh* our last few have included Our Cane Corso, A new floor for the basement, and dirt bikes for the kids. Cant say I have regretted any of it though. ;-)

JustJazzie I am the exact same way. I can always convince myself that a smaller purchase can wait, or that I don't have enough money for it... But with the more expensive stuff, I suddenly have extra money even though I really don't, i'm just not buying the stuff I really need so that I can buy the stuff I don't need. The struggle. haha

Pajacre, I HAVE to look up every possibly review before I purchase anything. I was at walmart the other night looking for a new coffee maker and ended up looking up reviews to just about every coffee maker they had on the shelf. Turns out the cheaper ones had the best reviews.

Hehehe! Glad I am not alone on this one. I've been saying I need new kitchen knives for about 7 years now. ours are DULL. And we cook 99% of our meals from scratch. Yet, I look at New ones and say "$200 for kitchen knives?! I can't afford THAT" But 2k on a new floor because I'm tired of vacuuming and I don't want to steam clean it? No problem! :hide:

Hehehe! Glad I am not alone on this one. I've been saying I need new kitchen knives for about 7 years now. ours are DULL. And we cook 99% of our meals from scratch. Yet, I look at New ones and say "$200 for kitchen knives?! I can't afford THAT" But 2k on a new floor because I'm tired of vacuuming and I don't want to steam clean it? No problem! :hide:

I just bought some new kitchen knives last week!!! I had a set of walmart knives and was tired of having to sharpen them every other week because of them not holding an edge. Using the higher end knives sure does make a world of a difference! You just have to be more careful when using them because they'll take your hand right off. One call, that's all! lol

Do it! You wont regret it! I actually get excited about cutting up vegetables now, as to where I used to find reasons to not eat healthy just so that I wouldn't have to use my old knives :lol:

I have never even sharpened ours. They were second hand from my mom and my sister when I got married, and I am POSITIVE they never sharpened them either. I more "hack" at things than slice them. Or score them and rip them apart. :hide:

and now I have embarrassed myself into really wanting knives, but the computer is broken, and a working desktop for photos is WAY more important than food. Besides, if I get new knives and slice off my finger, then how will I use Photoshop?! Yup. new knives are just a bad idea.

Knives are very important if you like to cook, and I really like to cook. I have one or two really nice knives that I use a lot, but one day I want a good set, block and all!

But that's the kind of thing that I will research to death before I make a decision, and I'll have plenty of time to do that research since it will take me a good long time to save up the money

I keep buying cheapo sunglasses, because these look good on me. I keep scratching and keep buying a several pairs.
I also keep buying apps for my ipad. These are very cheap and fun to play with, and I get bore fast.

No no no! That's like saying cameras are important for photography. You don't need sharp knives to make yummy food.

Quality ingredients (and lighting) always come first. :giggle:
