I still use a film SLR and need an opinion on which of these cameras I should get.

They aren't SLR cameras but they are close enough and fit into my $300 price range(well, close enough).

^^^I like this one better, seem like a better deal.

(I love Amazon:hail:)

What film SLR are you currently using? If you like using a true SLR, I'd stick to a DSLR instead of some type of point and shoot. Anyways.. between the two you have selected, I'd go with the Panasonic Lumix. It has had great reviews since its release and the Leica glass.

I am using a Minolta Maxxum 50 w/ Quantery 28-90.

I want a SLR but they are pretty expensive, but post any cheap ones you know about.

And it my Dad wants me to get the Panasonic because of the Leica lense, and all he uses is Leica cameras.

Also after reading a little more about it, It said that the camera can go into 'manual mode' (like a SLR) and you can also go into macro. I am definately getting the Panasonic now.
