Keep it or bin it?

This is another one from the portfolio shoot with Skye - this was a "just messing around and trying" stuff shot, and I'm torn; I sort of like his look and the strong shadow on the background, but I don't know if that makes it a strong, or even decent shot, or one that should hit the floor.

Thoughts?

Edited to add: Completely unprocessed as I'm not sure if it warrants the effort or not.

I'd maybe try it much closer cropped, almost to a head shot. Otherwise, I'm not feeling it.

Amusingly, I wish it had been shot a hair wider. I think the kid's body language and hand position make this one.

I think it's pretty good, he wanted "tough guy" right? This is pretty noir-ish, a bit west-side-story. If he comes back in, try this one again but slightly wider and from a lower angle. Maybe chin-up, looking down his nose a little with a sneer. "You smelled something bad but you're being cool about it"

"Tough/edgy was exactly what he wanted, but I had a LOT of trouble getting him to act it. Oddly enough the "bad smell" cue was one that I used...

Agreed. Body language is what gives him the tough guy look. All joking aside, move in closer and he just looks like an emotionless serial killer.
