Somebody's tire spoils the scene, and you've cropped the tree and quite a lot of the hill.

Re-shoot. Go hide the wheel, frame bigger to to get more hill, and of course, capture the same light as you did here, it is wonderful.

I would of tried a long exposure to reduce water ripple.
Include more of the mountain.
Remove the tire.

The sky was boring so I didn't include it. I have two pict with more mountain and but simply don't like it

I say keep it as a reminder until you decide or figure out what you would/could change about it.

After looking at it for about 4-5 minutes, here are the things that I would suggest. Shoot from a lower vantage point. (you may already be at the water level, I don't know) and try to get all of the top of the tree. It would be nice to capture a really blue sky for the upper left side of the image.

The only photos I usually delete when I'm using my digital camera are those with shutter blur (I moved, it moved, whatever), or if I realized the exposure was way off, etc. But I'm a film photographer, there is no tossing (unless you somehow mess up an entire roll). So there are photos I may not use in any particular way, or may not print, etc. but I keep the originals.

Sometimes if a photo doesn't quite turn out the way you wanted, looking at it later you might see what didn't work and what else you could try.

I'll try to describe it for you.
Lakeside looking over the water toward a small mountain bathed in sunlight. There is a tree growing near the water's edge, and both the tree and the water are in shade. There is a tire and white wheel leaning on a log near the tree.

What's good about this is there is a leading line of the shoreline leading to the tree, and the light from the sunlit hill is bright yellow.

I took this shot and didn't delete it because the light was just beautiful... I was waiting to come up with something after some time...but... it just wasn't successful.
Reshooting the scene... well, not so easy... There is always someone there swimming when it's nice weather

I don't think the tire makes this a toss - but maybe some selective editing on the tree so it doesn't look cut off - the hillside and the reflection is just amazing. I think this is one that could be saved really with a bit of creative editing.
