And the fact he is willing to spend the bucks for a dSLR and lenses in something "he is not really interested"... plus the 180 he already spent in the P+S.

The really interesting fact thatwas revealed in this thread and merits further meditiation is the bit about the Fruit Loops.

i recommend a 4x5 or 8x10 view camera, that will take the kind of photos you want. although if you really want them sharp go with the 8x10.

or a hassie with a digital back. you only need like you know . . .$20,000 for the ideal setup.

or you can hire me airfair+room and board + $2,000 per day of shooting. i'll give you prints and files as i see fit.
add 10% per apparent 10lbs i liquify off of you as needed.

Alright, My turn to chime in.

You can get those "hot" pictures with your Powershot, You just have to know how. And since it doesn't seem you care to learn then your not going to get those images.

If you do decide to want to learn.. Learn how to compose an image.. What aperture is and what it does.. What shutter speed and ISO to use for what lighting and what kind of action.

Learn Depth Of Focus, Bokeh.. How to get these effects, learn to read the light.

That is what photography is, capturing light how YOU see it. If you can't see the it how you want it in your head, it's not going to happen..

Compose the image in your head then get everything right so it duplicates what you saw, like drawing.

Okay, so I wasn't going to log in today, just do a quick search on a few other threads. But I had to after reading this thread.

Since the OP isn't interested in the excellent sages of advice that have been offered up to a reasonable original question, I have to ask one of my own.

I prefer Honey Bunches of Oats, Bannana Nut Crunch will do, but if my diet as not been as "good" as it should be, will Cheerios be a sensible alternative? Is it OK to practice while the milk is softening the cereal, or should I complete breakfast and then begin my practice session? And finally, is 1% milk acceptable?

This is probably one of the funniest threads I have ever read.

First of all, its "desperate" not "desperit".

Secondly, univ`, if you honestly think that you can just buy something or do something magical to your camera to make pictures come out amazing why on earth are there professional photographers? Heck, I'd love to just go out, spend however much money on pro gear and get hired by Porsche to shoot their cars, and have it look amazing.

Also, if you haven't gotten the hint by now, no matter how many threads full of pictures that you like you post no one here is going to be able to help you unless you have a desire to learn how to photograph. In other words, heed everyone's advice and hire a photographer.

Lastly, where are these myspace pictures that make you want spiffy fancy pro-quality pictures?

BTW, Sabbath your zoo pictures from that Powershot are pretty awesome. I probably would be hard pressed to replicate that with my DSLR.

Edit: Cheerios or Wheaties and Skim milk?

mmm, fruit loops. very entertaining thread. you can't get amazing pictures by just pointing and shooting whatever you want, you have to learn techniques and the basics of photography, ie. everything mentioned above. that's the only way you'll get good pics.

Waste of breath. That's been said at least 4-5 times so far in this thread.

If he has no interest in learning and "desperite"LY needs amazing pics, I would suggest he make his fingers do the walking... to the local yellow pages... under photographers... ask them to charge you to take a few "l33t" pics and be done with it.

This person's goals are to impress someone on a website while thinking with the wrong head, and their mentality is that of a 12 year old... you cannot talk sense... they see only what they want, read only what they want.

Don't give in to the dark side Luke!!!

oh... to bring my post back on topic... I also prefer Fruit Loops myself before the big shoots. The sugar rush enhances my senses and permits a higher mental plane of internal vision for my pre-compositions. :lmao: :lmao:

We must be kindred spirits. :hail:

I have a distinct feeling that most of the responders on this thread were avoiding the obvious.

I can do Cheerios with fruit added, but I refuse to go Skim.

Apparently it's Cheerios or Wheaties, dude.

I have a vague recollection of the rushes. It inspired some of my best writings.

Hey, is the OP still with us?

i'm going to take it serious and re-read this thread sometime this week

Call me Captain Obvious! :banghead: I feel the need to point out that spell check is a very handy thing. In fact Mozilla Firefox is a fine tool when surfing the net that includes spell check.

Wouldn't the sugar rush cause unsteady hands?
