Overexposed. Kidding ;) Like the last one better...

To The Traveler: ok well I've been holding a camera since I was 2 years old and my father has been a photography professor at a university for 40 years and I have taken his classes several times and he has used my photography when i was a child several times to show his students what they should be doing with their work so believe me when I say I fully understand the BASICS ASS hole

P.S. I've seen your photography and its hardly art so how about you take your 4077 posts and stay out of mine OK?

One thing you clearly didn't learn in your extensive taking of courses was common civility.

look I know I came off harsh and I'm sorry but u cant go running around acting like everyone is a noob and you dont even know them thats all im saying is it is a bit pretentious to assume I dont know the basics of photography when you dont know who i am.

Oh hey look... Another self-inflated over-reacting person on TPF. Shocked I am!

Do tell, who ARE you?

Why is it wrong to assume someone posting in the Beginner Forum is a beginner. Maybe that was a poor choice on your part, eh?

I think I like the original better in this context, I normally like really bright pictures but with her tattoos and her style it makes her look more mysterious... IMHO

Please forgive us.

The amaturish look of your snaps mis-led us to believe you were clueless.

How were we to know you were an un-discovered genius with zero couth?

WTF are you doing posting in a beginners forum, if you're not a beginner, have been shooting since you were 2, and have taken college level photography classes.

I bet your father is rightly proud of you.

You now qualify for a lateral promotion.

Bright things pull the eye
The little sliver of her shirt is the brightest thing in the picture
It pulls the eye while her glasses just merge into the dark background

I suggest that, before getting all artsy with a style, you practice the basics a bit more.

Now, where out of this did you get that he was being an a**hole? He was suggesting that you work on the basics more since you are posting in a beginners thread - thus you must be a beginner? You asked for critique and when you didn't like what you got you start smashing on other peoples work. If you want praise about what wonderful pictures you take - show them to your dad. If you want people to tell you what they don't like and/or do like about your pictures post them here. You're suppose to come here to get help on composition, lighting, etc. NOT for praise.

Oh yeah - maybe you should include some info. when you post a picture for C+C explaining what you were going for and blah, blah, blah. Maybe once people know what you were trying to do they won't "offend" you so much. And if you don't want to be treated like a NOOB then don't post in the beginners forum. Easy as that. People are critiquing your pictures, not your person.

It looks like she was taking her own picture and her hand holding the cam got cut off.

The first image- her skin looks weird - the texture and uneven tones.

underexposed
Wow thats all I ever hear "underexposed" u do realize that not all photographs have to be bright and shiny right?
On a constructive note...if you repeatedly are told that your images look under exposed, you might want to rethink where your art stands.

Just because you wish to claim artistic license, doesn't mean it is effective.
