Just taking a look at some photos from my trip to Southern Oregon and the Redwoods last year. I liked this scene as soon as I saw it. Hope I did it justice. Best viewed on black (click to the picture to see it on FlickR).

Love it too...it has that mysterious feel to it.

One question though, when I viewed in Flickr without logging in, I see the same size. How do I make it bigger?

First thing that poped into my head was the Movie Avatar (that's a compliment BTW). The bright green colors... Great shot.

I like it, but I think i would like it more if the small plant that is on the right side of the screen was not there.

I agree about the plant on the right side, however this shot is really beautiful. I like the focal length that you chose as well, it's nice to see a great landscape not shot with a wide angle

Looks great . . . and you're right - it looks better viewed against a black background. The edges don't look quite so dark and muddy when you do that.

I haven't enabled the option to see the image bigger. I don't watermark my images, so the only protection is to keep the sizes small.

I appreciate it. I think the light didn't work out perfectly. I really wanted that tall plant to be an integral part of the composition, but there was strong back light which made it difficult for separation.

I appreciate it. I think the light didn't work out perfectly. I really wanted that tall plant to be an integral part of the composition, but there was strong back light which made it difficult for separation.

It not bing more separated from the rest of the scene more is not what bothers me in fact it sticks out just fine. That's actually the problem it sticks out to much and is battering to be the subject of the image. The image already has a much better subject and that's the light. The way the beams of light come through the big trees, the way it falls on the ferns the light is the subject . And then you see a twiggy little plant. It just takes away from the beauty of the majesty of the light.

With it the image has two subjects the light and the plant. Having multiple subjects means that nether of them will get the viewers full attention.
