Still new at Maternity

Just wanted to share some shots from this weekend's maternity session- I don't mind any input if you wanna give it -it wouldn't let me post any of the photos so I'm resorting to linking my FLICKR account

i love them all esp the one with the belly where you can see the goose bumps haha.. i would suggest getting a lens hood to take out the lens flare when out doors

Solid set, for the most part!

We can't wait to meet you | Flickr - Photo Sharing! <-- seems flat and maybe a little on the cool side. It looks like you used a gold reflector in some of the ones near the truck, would have helped both lighting and WB here.

Edited to add: regarding lens flare, it's knowing how and when to use it. In this one: Sweet love | Flickr - Photo Sharing! I kinda like it. Gives that feeling of whimsy, maybe because it looks like bubbles. But this one: Beautiful | Flickr - Photo Sharing! I find it to be a bit distracting.

its harder to give C&C from a link, but i went ahead and took a look anyway.
Overall a decent set. the posing is good. (traintracks though?)
quite a few are underexposed though, and would have greatly benefited from some extra lighting.
if you will notice on this set, on some of the pictures, her dress and his shirt are bright blue, and in other pictures, their clothes are dark to the point they are almost purple-ish. (IE: the train track photos) This is due to inconsistencies in exposure and white balance.

Thank you for taking a look - while I'm sure there are inconsistencies in exposure and white balance in all the SOOC shots their clothes are the very close to the same shade of blue throughout- they look vastly different because of different editing styles on each individual picture -something I want to try to stop doing so that each set has a more cohesive feel....ohhhh and yeah the tracks were not my idea lol- i did that more 5 years ago but I'm kinda over it now- she asked to do that specifically - oh one more thing- I've never had a problem posting pics before but last night none would attach, it kept saying invalid file type, even when I resized them thinking maybe the file was too big. They were .png files and that file type is listed as acceptable- any idea what the issue was maybe?

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at the link and even link back so I know which photo you are referring to with each comment- I know that's a pain I was using a gold reflector in some of the shots- I think that's the first time I've deviated from the silver reflector but I wanted them to have a warm feel
"lovely composition"- Thank you - I was second guessing that shot because it's far away but I did like it so I included it
Trendy Banners- lol there are so many really cute ones out there I've seen made that I don't think I could compete- my very first one I made for Valentine's day took me so long because I used cardstock and scrapbook paper to make it extra decorative and cute- it was a pain in the butt lol- the ones I did for this set were made on a whim just before the session using some paper from my sketch pad, some pastels to do fast designs and color the backgrounds and Sharpies...then I got a $.50 roll of curling ribbon like used for balloons so it was just a cheapie banner that I think worked out well but I would not feel confident selling it to anyone haha

Consistency in processing can be tough, especially under changing shooting conditions, but in the end, it is important to have a consistent look for the same set. Keep an eye on your cameras meter so you can adjust for changing lighting. You might have to adjust aperture or shutter speed many times in the same outdoor shoot to keep the exposure correct.

I mainly use light room for processing, and i can see whole rows of pictures at once to compare how i have processed them. It helps me make sure i haven't over or under processed some of them, or made some look too different from the rest.

Not sure why you couldnt upload. I shoot raw and convert to jpeg. Never had any upload issues concerning file types.

As individual photos, none of them are bad or wrong, but as pixmedic already said, consistency within a set is key! It's hard sometimes deciding when you have several "looks" that look nice, but in a small-medium sized set, picking 1 or 2 (say, a color and b&w/monochrome is really popular right now) helps.

I made the little banner as well that was was a little more tricky than the big one bc it's not big enough to have a natural "hanging curve" to it but luckily I made it work! I would have preferred to use like a small twine instead of the curling ribbon on that one but I was pressed for time
