Then, than and who knows?

I'd just like to say that then and than are different words. They are not interchangeable.

Then suggests passage of time or reference to time in some way.

Than is used to compare.

Example:

I am better than her at tennis.

It was then I realised I had no clothes on.

These are both correct. This however is wrong:

Caviar costs more then Toast.

That is wrong.

My main peeve is when people misuse apostrophes.

Let me make it clear to everyone: an apostrophe NEVER NEEDS to be used to make a noun into a plural!!

BAD: we have book's, CD's, and video's
GOOD: go shove your books, CDs, and videos up your bum :er:

I don't know why, but that's the one mistake drives me crazy the most.

The confusion between it's and its is also very annoying to me.

Oh, and one more thing: Your does not equal you're!

In case you wondered - In Kentucky it's perfectly acceptable to refer to one's parents as "Mom 'n' 'em".
Also, "y'all" is singular; "all y'all" is plural.

I am also picky about to, too, and two!

Two = the number 2!
Too = "Also" (I would like some too) or "in excess" (your butt is too big)
To = this has TWO functions (First as a preposition - it most always comes before a noun) (Second it indicates an infinitive when it comes before a verb)

i'll just specify that some abreviations really work better when you're typing fast... like u, r, b, 2, 4, and the list goes on.

that being said, the Than/then damn thing frustrates me too. I mean... english is my third language and i still write them the right way automatically, so shame on you people for misusing your onw language

oh yeah, add the abreviations to the reasons why i hate MSN. if what you see here is irrtating, you shouldn't even try to imagine Messenger.
