Actually grabbed a 28-80 f/3.5 at a pawn shop for $35. USM and is FAST! My only complaint is that manual focus seems a bit tricky as the fine zoom ring seems "sticky." It's usually not a problem though as I use AF. It's so much faster than the 18-55. There substantially less CA than the 18-55 (which was one of my biggest complaints). It's pretty sharp too. Definitely pretty happy with it
