How to deal with hardcore photographers?

I don't get what part you are disagreeing with. Perhaps, your definition of 'high quality' is different than theirs. In most zoos, zoo pictures will look like zoo pictures. Distracting elements in the frame, cages/netting, busy crowds, and sleeping animals. As far as getting 'high quality' images shooting from a moving vehicle, well, again, I would tend to agree with your detractors. No way you can plan out the composition, angle, lighting, etc to make a true 'high quality' image from a moving vehicle.

I think the part that is confusing you is that 2 months and a Canon Rebel does not make you a superior photographer.

Part of learning photography is in raising your standards of what you produce.
There are many situations where you cannot take "a good photo". You can take a photo yes, and with what you have and the lighting present you can make a good job of the shot; but that won't change the fact that (in the big wide world) the quality of what was produced is lesser than ideal.

Sometimes part of learning photography is in choosing if you want that record shot or if you want to pause, not take a photo and instead watch the scene before you unfold.

Okay, I didn't say my photographs are the best in the world. I wish these are best, but, of course, that will not happen. Beside, I have received good critiques on my photos from other posts.

I'd call that a part-time professional." She just rolled her eyes and walked away.

I've found that pretty much everyone in the world knows more about photography than I do, which I find really fascinating since I'm the only one of these people who has spent any real time learning about it.

Maybe I'm just slow.

Why not use part time amateur, that would confuse people a whole lot more.

not everyone gets the same results, but the other people i've told to search it have all had it on the first page

That must be why the first three pages of my "red panda" search was naked ladies.

I did the same thing.. it came up as #20 on the list of images... not bad!

Yes, not bad a all! I will have to check again sometime, on an unbiased computer. I wish one of my photos would show up on the first page of a google search.
