Self-Portrait / Feeling lucky

I understand that this is not something new, you probably already seen similar photos, I saw it too and wanted to do one for myself on my way... hope you like it...



Didn't have some special conditions to do this photo, only natural light from window and Nikon D3100 + 50 1.8 on tripod...

Not bad really, better than most selfies. A slight bit dark perhaps, but really overall, a good "image". I wish the dice had a bit of blurring to them...but still, your position, the T-shirt with the wrinkles in it, your eye gaze, and the framing--all very good elements! Again...of the millions of selfies shot every day now, for a window-light shot, this is pretty good. The FRAMING of the shot is what I like most. The depth of field is also good. Is it technically and aesthetically perfect? NO. But it's still a good "image".

Actually, I really like the fact that the dice are sharply focused; IMO that's the ideal contrast. If they had some motion blur, than the whole image would lack any sharp focus. I'm impressed that you were able to get the focus on the dice that precise. I think a little contrast & exposure boost might not go amiss here. I am going to disagree with Derrel slightly on the framing. I am not fond of the way your head's cut off. That's just a bit too low for my taste. If the whole frame had just a bit more room, not much, but a little, and your head was all or mostly in the frame this would have been a great shot. It is however, as Derrel says, much better than most, and definitely more creative as well.

Thank you for the comment, I aslo think that is a little bit darker, but generally I like dark photos, black and white also... because of that I'm ok with it

Thank you for the comment too, about framing and head, i had couple more photos with a more space above my forehead... but for my taste this crop is better... that is only reason...
