yongnuo speedlite 565ex canon vs. nikon version

I buy a yongnuo 565 ex speedlight canon version by mistake instead of nikon version for my d3000. will this canon version work on my nikon camera? please help.

It should work, but only as a manual flash. You will not be able to employ the TTL (automatic flash exposure) functions.

It will definitely not fry your camera or anything, but as mentioned above, you won't have certain functionality. So since you paid for the functionality, I'd return it if possible. If not possible, still a great flash, and TTL is... often problematic anyway.

High speed sync flash IS very useful, however I don't think that flash offers it in the first place, so no loss there either.
