I'm still experimenting with film and I finally got the film I used last fall developed. I shot using a Yashica FX-2 with the Yashica DSB 50mm f/1.9 and I believe what happened was the trees was frame 35 and that was the last frame do to me not loading it precisely, I lost a little of space on...
I haven't done a proper self portrait where I actually put some effort into it. It's been a rough part of my photographic journey where I am having a difficult time finding the inspiration and motivation. Anyways the other day I thought of a cool idea for a self portrait that I haven't done by...
I saw my cat, Luke sitting in the sunlight for a whole 60 seconds for me to take these pictures and thought it would be a good idea to do some natural low key lighting.
Yesterday it looked like winter wonderland here. Very heavy wet snow fell which caused lot of outages. My power was out from 3am until about 9am. It was a crazy and stressful day but I managed to get out to take some photos. I know it's nothing special but I liked the way this leave was wedged...
Woke up to about 4 inches of heavy wet snow...power went out at 3:33am (perfect timing) and didn't come back on until almost 10am. But managed to get out to take photos, didn't get anything I liked that much but I liked the colors in this.

I know this may not be my best photograph and that's okay. It has meaning to me even though it may look like a random photo, the reason it has meaning is that that day when I was photographing, I was having a very bad day and I kept thinking about the past and present.
i know it's nothing great...
It's been a busy last couple of months so I haven't spent much time here on the forums.
Anyways I picked up this Yashica FX-2 at a flea market (more like a yard sale than anything) for $12 that I couldn't pass up. Came with a couple lenses too. The camera was in very rough shape but as you can...
I was doing some lens testing betweens these too, nothing crazy but I was surprised how little difference there was. I'm a big fan of focusing up close with just about any lens because I feel like that's where the biggest differences are. I'm also trying to decide between them as I really don't...
I know this isn't the best photo I've taken and I'm not looking for a serious critique because its overall, a snapshot. I was about the head out the door for something and I really liked the way my cat, Luke, was laying in front of the door with his paws out front and the expression he had.
So...
I liked the way he was laying on the bed, looked comfortable.
If you think about it, cats have a pretty good life. Always fed, fresh water, endless toys, treats and scratching posts, litter box gets cleaned out. We really are slaves to them 🙃

I know it's not a good photo but I thought it was interesting to see the root system of this tree that's been exposed due to years of washouts from storms.

Hey y'all, I am looking to get my first RF glass and I am either going to sell my EF50 1.2L and my 100mm F.28 L to fund an 85mm 1.2 RF or I can just sell the EF 50 and buy the 50 RF. If I go with the 85 RF I will only have my 35 1.4 L left over, and if I go with the 50mm RF I will have both the...
Hello! I recently purchased a Minolta Xg1 camera. I believe the lens I have is 50mm? Here are the details to my purchase: Minolta XG-1 camera with 50mm F1.7 MD-Rokkor-X and Vivitar 75-300mm F4.5/5.6 macro zoom and brand new Minolta 118X flash.
I'm guessing I can't use portra400 film with these...
Found this little gem at Goodwill, yesterday. Pretty dirty and missing the caps. Had a Hoya UV filter on it, so it kept the front clean. But for the price, I couldn't pass it up. I've since cleaned it, and tested it out.
It's really well constructed. Very surprised at how close you can focus...
(Not must to read)Photography is my hobby and I can't spend much money on it. Everything I have now I got for free, but I feel that I need autofocus prime lens for portraits. I have 5D(first), EF 28-135 IS USM, Plannar 50 1.4(not new one, old, for c/y mount, but i have focus confirm)Sonnar 135...
I thought about buying an adapter for this and using it on my fuji cameras, but given my proclivity for manual focusing, i figured it was never really likely to happen.
any Pentax shooters around that aren't put off by manual focus?
its pretty clean, 8 bladed aperture that works fine, mount...

This is a photograph I took of where I stay that I have re-edited. I wanted to give it that peering through the trees at a sleepy town kinda feel. The top and bottom have been cropped. I'm happy with this edit. It was taken using a...
I have a question for users experienced with fast primes. Today, I tried to test AF with my 700D (T5i) and my two lenses:
- EF-S 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 IS STM
- EF 50mm 1.8 STM
I noticed an issue with the 50mm. When I open up the aperture to the max, the AF jumps a bit on every other photo.
But...
