Mylar Experimental Portrait- new shot added

Just as an aside a few years ago I read an article from a Hollywood celebrity photographer who used reflective mylar in a poster-frame size to reflect little "dimples" of sunlight. He showed four or five really cool samples of his work done with this accessory, and it had a unique quality that was very hard to pin down. The secret was his use of a sheet of mylar in a plastic poster frame as one of his reflectors for the actual Sun. combined with regular fill light from basic white reflectors or silver reflectors, the mylar bounce board gave little "hot spots" which were very exciting visually.

I like the individual facial reflections in the original shot better, and that shirt!

You should make a tutorial on your Portrait Lighting and skin processing techniques. I would pay for that! #supportthearts
I was actually contacted by a subscription based educational site called Finding North (Home) last month because they want to commission me for a retouching video. I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to it because I've been toying with the idea of making educational content for years with no progress so far, but considering current times I may have to finally get things moving on that idea. A passive income sure would be nice right about now.

Your latest shot shows just how exciting and different this technique is. I think quite highly of it. This is exciting and new. I am pretty confident in you, that if you work at this for a month or two, you will be producing some exciting and truly Innovative work that is unlike that being produced by any other photographer in California.
Thanks Derrell. Unfortunately I had to leave California and return to Portland for the time being. With no one booking shoots (the industry is at a total stop right now), I couldn't afford to stay. Fortunately I'm set up to return once all of this is over. In the meantime, no photo shoots in general. At least I can work on getting caught up with editing in the meantime.

I noticed a lot of cool things visually that it was doing during this photo shoot that got me really excited to keep using it. One thing I noticed while building the set was how the reflected light looked like water reflections if it was reflected from below the subject.

I had originally gotten the idea to make a set with reflective mylar after helping a friend make a giant kaleidoscope using the mylar and pvc pipes.

I get amazed every time I see your work.

I would 100% purchase a retouching tutorial by you. It is by far my weakest attribute.

I appreciate that. The right amount and type of retouching is definitely important. Just keep in mind that my technique (dodging and burning) can be very time consuming.

At this point, what do most of us have, except time?

This is true, and a good reason for me to get on with making a tutorial. I have plenty of photos to retouch anyways.
