You seem to be forgetting that often less is more, and you're losing your original vision of what you wanted in the design. I think your most recent one is your weakest so far. As you can see it sticks out like a sore thumb on the B&W photograph. Simple low opacity stuff does just fine.

You don't want your logo to speak louder than your work.
