I may have just gotten my first DSLR for Christmas, but I was here a good week or two prior to that! I intend to stick around, though I'm not going to make any promises. If anything, it's more likely that I'd become a lurker than a deserter.

I would suggest the FroKnowsPhoto.com forums. They are a kinder gentler people.

There will be those who are here long enough to learn some of the basics and then drop off and that's great. That's what forums are for. Later there will be a few that even come back to help someone else down the road.
Then there will be those who leave within a few weeks or days because they can't handle the fact that cc is hard on them, that we can be a rough and tumble crowd; because they know it all and we are all out of our minds and don't know a damn thing...

On that note, please stop posting the same landscape photo for C&C, as an example of a pic with a P&S, etc. It's shown up in multiple threads... enough already.

Why would I go to a place with gentler people? I usually connect the word gentle with sugar-coated. I'd rather have strong/tough criticism that actually shows me my errors rather than sugar-coated criticism that hardly tells me what I did wrong.
